Most of the time, starting from scratch is not a good idea. In a world in which knowledge is just a click away and in which you can get connected to pretty much anybody on the planet, it's always worth to look at other people's approaches first and then to find your own unique way of doing something.
If you have the feeling that you could be learning differently or more effectively, start by talking to your close friends and colleagues. Ask 2-3 people the following questions:
What is your favorite way of learning?
What has worked for you in the past?
What didn't work and why?
What is your most important tip for me to develop effectively?
If you wanted to solve my current development challenge, how would you do approach this?
Put all answers together and find out what feels right. What is it that could work for you? Don't waste time and try it out the same day!
