Tip 19: Teach back to learn

'To teach is to learn twice over.' Joseph Joubert

There are a million strategies to help you remember and apply what you have learned. One special and very easy way to do so is to teach back what you have learned to others. The audience can be either your team or other people interested in the topic.

The benefit is two-fold: You are engaging with the content in a very intensive way because you have to think about what you have learned and also how you can best present this to your target audience. The change in perspective helps you to see the learnings in a different way and thus to create deeper neural connections in your brain. Also, the questions triggered by the audience act as a mirror: They will help you to understand which parts might also still not be clear to you.

What about actively planning your next teach-back already today?
